POWERTEC OS1000

I just got POWERTEC OS1000 Oscillating Spindle Sander Looking Back, OOPS! Capacity and LongevityBy Latimer the CatNow that I've used it, hobbyist is the application for this machine.I'll start out by saying that it was (as the same machine sold under other name brands by the blue-crew) purchased for about 1/3 less than it can be found in their retail stores - although the $60+ for shipping ate most of that up.It will do the task that I ask of it but I don't see any room for either longevity of use much pass its one year warranty or doing heavy-duty projects as this machine is NOT over built.Even with the nice cast iron work-surface, well-designed table inserts and the well thought-out storage slots, the words plastic and corporate sell-out to China come to mind. Having used several different commercial machines over the years, maybe I'm just spoiled in that way. This just does not give that commercial confidence operational feel.It does do a good job of collecting and venting most of the dust through its dust ducting path-ways.
